Depending on your grandparent's physical capabilities, they can sit on a bench and enjoy watching the kids have fun on a playground, or they can come along on a walk or bike ride. Need help picking a park? Check out our Guide linked below.

7. Visit a Spot Special to Your Grandparents

Flip the script and take your grandparents to one of their favorite places. If your grandparents grew up in Indian River County, have them show you their childhood home or their favorite place to hang out as a teen. They can reminisce on good memories while your kids learn something new about them!

Long-Distance Grandparents

Let them know you're thinking of them on Grandparents' Day! Here are three ways to tell them you love them from a distance:

1. Schedule a Video Call

We love technology that allows us to see our loved ones thousands of miles away. To make the call extra special, kids can have a prepared list of all the things they love about grandma and grandpa.

2. Send Some Snail Mail

Send some art, assemble a care package, write a thoughtful letter, or mail a hug! To make the hug, tape a few pieces of paper together and outline your child with their arms outstretched. Let your kids color themselves in and send some happy mail!

3. Conduct an Interview

Our kids (and even us) often don't know much about their grandparents' past. Your kids will love learning more about them through interview questions. You can email this list, ask the questions over the phone, or conduct an interview via video call. Click here to get a list of questions.
