Playgrounds Worth the Drive!

The best parks in Brevard, Martin, and St. Lucie Counties

By Alison Ellis, publisher of Macaroni KID Vero Beach March 14, 2024

We have some fun playgrounds in Indian River County (which can all be found in my Parks Guide), but if you're feeling up to an adventure, there are playgrounds in the surrounding areas that are worth the drive!

These playgrounds in Brevard County, Martin County, and St. Lucie County have features I love in a playground such as fun equipment, separate toddler areas, and shade. Keep reading to see why these are my favorite parks in the Treasure and Space Coasts!

This park has it all! There are soccer fields, a baseball field, a mini golf area, a basketball court, a splash pad, and a skate park! There are also separate toddler and school-aged playgrounds. Most importantly, this park is ADA accessible and is the first park in Florida built entirely for children and adults with disabilities.

What sets this playground apart is the large metal covering with two jumbo fans that covers the entire play area. Besides having shade, this park is also fully fenced and has soft flooring. There are baseball and soccer fields at this park. This is a great option if you want to get outside on a rainy day!

Seawall's Point Park

S Sewalls Point Road
Seawall's Point, FL 34996
(Stuart, FL)

This hidden gem of a park is so charming! There are cute touches like an arched entry, swinging bench, butterfly garden, and Little Free Library. The playground equipment is also fun, featuring tall slides and interesting climbing structures. There is a large sand play area and a small beach (Lagoon side), so I would recommend bringing sand toys. Don't worry, there is a place with running water to clean the sand off! I'm not sure if I would let my kids go in the water here (it was cold so we didn't test out the depth), but they loved playing on the beach. It was crowded the morning we went but then cleared out later. The one downside to this park is that there are no restrooms, but I did see a porta-potty in the parking lot.

I hope this list of "worth the drive" playgrounds and parks in the areas surrounding Indian River County helps you find some fun places for your family to explore. I can't wait to add to this list, and I already have a couple of playgrounds in mind to explore. If you have a suggestion for a park that should be added to the list or an update that needs to be made, email alisone@macaronikid.com.
