Museum Hosts Free Outdoor Digital Artist Exhibition Art After Dark

The exhibition will be on view for two nights: December 15 and 16, 2023

December 11, 2023

The Vero Beach Museum of Art is hosting its third Art After Dark outdoor digital art exhibition with an expanded list of eighteen new global artworks from nine countries. The exhibition will be FREE to visitors and on view during the evenings of December 15th and 16th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Brett Phares, lead curator of Art After Dark, worked with the Museum team to arrive at the final selection of international artists whose original works celebrate digital art in its many possibilities. Each night will feature the same artworks but different works from last year's event, utilizing the latest technologies projected onto the iconic white walls of the VBMA.

Outdoor projection art or digital art celebrates the possibilities found at the convergence of art and architecture. Artworks include illustration, experimental film, motion graphics, and large-scale digital video projection with sound.

Lead curator of Art After Dark, Brett Phares, commented, “Surrounded by mature oaks, palms, and an expansive skyline, the Museum’s park location creates ideal conditions for outdoor digital art. This year we’ve increased the number of locations for projection, along with doubling the amount of art. If you saw the exhibition last year, bring your friends this year. It’s going to be one unique walk in the park.”

Admission is FREE on both nights. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. Food Trucks include Off The Hook, Tavo's Tacos, and The Dignity Food Truck. Cash only for the bar (beer, wine and champagne). Bring your lawn chairs.
